Natural Ways to Get Rid of Corns on Feet

Usually if you exert less pressure on feet, it could be the way you can heal the corns on feet in a simple way. If you want then you can take over-the-counter medicines and lotions to help them getting rid of. Otherwise, you can try simple and great home remedies to apply on the corn feet.

1. Pumice Stone
Pumice stone can be easily available from the herbal store. Buy and massage it on the corn and the nearby parts. It will help in removing the dead and hardened skin.
  • Soak your feet in hot water for 10 minutes in order to make your skin soft. Do this before going to bed.
  • Rub a pumice stone across the affected area for five minutes then pat dry the feet.
  • Take a cotton ball and dip it in castor oil then place it on the corn. Secure it with tape and leave it overnight.
  • In the next morning, remove the tape and apply only castor oil for several times a day.
  • Repeat the treatment for some days until the corn is fully removed.

2. White Vinegar
White vinegar is also a great remedy for this purpose. It has high acidity level which helps in soften the hard skin along with the action of antifungal and antibacterial properties to reduce the risk of infection.
  • Mix one part of white vinegar with three parts of water.
  • Dab the vinegar on the corn before going to bed.
  • Cover the area with bandage and leave it overnight.
  • In the morning, exfoliate the thick skin with a pumice stone or emery board.
  • Apply olive or coconut oil to keep the area moisturized.
  • Use this remedy once daily.

3. Baking Soda
Baking soda also contains healing properties and is an exfoliating agent so it reduces the dead skin by covering the corn. Due to the presence of antibacterial properties, it never causes any infection.
  • In a basin of warm water, add three tbsp. of baking soda. Soak your feet in the solution for 15 minutes. Rub the affected area with a pumice stone to remove the dead skin cells.
  • Alternatively, you can mix one tsp of baking soda, little lemon juice and water and prepare a paste. Apply the mixture carefully on the corns. Cover it with a tape and leave overnight. The next morning, rinse it off with lukewarm water and then exfoliate gently with a pumice stone.

4. Lemon
Lemon also works on the corns on feet. The citric acid present in lemon softens the hardened skin and corn eventually falls out.
  • Apply fresh lemon juice on the corn and let it dry. Do it three times a day.
  • Another thing you can do is take two cloves and soak in one tbsp. of fresh lemon juice for 15 minutes. Remove the cloves and rub the lemon juice on the corn. Let it dry then apply again. Repeat the procedure for several times a day.
  • Another option is to mix one tsp of Brewer’s yeast with a lemon juice and prepare a paste. Slather the paste on the corn and cover it with bandage to leave it overnight.

5. Garli
Garlic is a natural antioxidant and helpful in treating the corns. It has antibacterial properties so as to protect from any infection.
  • Take half clove of garlic and rub it on the corn then let it dry and cover with a bandage to leave it overnight.
  • In the next morning, remove the bandage and wash your feet with warm water. Do this every night.
  • Alternatively, cut three garlic cloves into small pieces and add a pinch of salt and prepare a paste. Apply this on the corn with the help of bandage then leave it for three days. On the third day, the corn will fall out. If require, repeat the process.
  • Make a paste of two garlic cloves, little vinegar and apply it on the corn. Take a cotton ball to place it over and secure with tape. Leave it for three hours and remove the tape to clean the area. Repeat the process daily for few weeks.

6. Turpentine Oil
Turpentine contains strong antiseptic properties that can easily heal corns. The oil gets into the skin quickly so it heals faster.
  • Take an ice cube and wrap in a thin cloth then massage on the affected area for two minutes. Pat dry and rub some turpentine oil on the corn. Put a bandage over it and leave it overnight. Do this before going to bed.
  • Alternatively, melt one-fourth cup of extra virgin coconut oil by putting it in a microwave. Now add one tbsp. of turpentine oil and two tbsp. of camphor oil. Let the mixture cool for some time. Soak your feet in warm water for few minutes then pat dry. At last, apply homemade cream on the corn. Store the rest of the paste in an air-tight jar. Repeat the process three times daily.

7. Papaya
Papaya is a tasty and effective remedy for removing the corns. The enzymes present in the papaya that help in slough off the hard and dead skin. Papaya eases the pain and discomfort. It helps to dry up the corn and it fall of faster. Use raw papaya.
  • Take a small piece of raw papaya and grate it to extract a juice.
  • Soak a cotton ball in the juice then apply it on the corn then secure it with a tape.
  • Leave it overnight.
  • Use a pumice stone to exfoliate on the corn in the next morning.
  • Repeat the procedure daily until you satisfied with the result.

8. Licorice
Licorice is used in Ayurveda and highly recommended to treat the corn’s feet due to its wonderful healing properties.
  • Mix one tbsp. of licorice powder in an enough mustard oil to make a thick paste.
  • Apply this paste on the affected area and do this just before going to bed.
  • Put a bandage over it and leave it overnight.
  • In the next morning, remove the bandage and wash the area with lukewarm water.
  • Do this remedy every night until the corn becomes soft and smaller in size.

9. Turmeric
Turmeric is another good way to heal corns. Its anti-inflammatory property will help in ease the discomfort and pain.
  • Mix a little honey and one tsp of turmeric powder to make a thick paste. Apply the paste on the corn and let it dry on its own. Repeat the process three times a day for at least one week or until the corns fall out.
  • Another way you can choose is mix one tsp of aloe vera gel and one-half tsp of turmeric powder. Apply the mixture on the corn. Cover it with a bandage to keep it overnight. In the next morning, rub the softened skin with a pumice stone then apply some moisturizer. Follow the remedy until you get comfort.

10. Pineapple
Clear your corn feet with pineapple. Pineapple peel is more effective than the flesh. The peels contain enzymes that help in soften the corns.
  • From a freshly removed pineapple peel, cut a small square.
  • Put the inner part of the peel over the corn and secure it with a bandage, wear a sock and leave it overnight.
  • In the next morning, remove the bandage, wash the area then apply coconut oil.
  • Use this remedy every night for one week.

Additional Tips
  • Soak your feet in an Epsom salt bath in order to get relief from the sharp pain of a corn.
  • Apply moisturizer as the last step to decrease pressure on the skin.
  • Wear fitted and comfortable shoes using extra padding.
  • Keep the toenails trimmed to prevent pressure on your toes.
  • Do not cut or shave corns as it increases the risk of infection.
  • Wash your feet every morning and evening with soap.
