10 Homemade Lip Scrubs to Fix your Dry, Flaky and Chapped Lips

1. Sugar
Sugar is one of the best ingredient for scrubbing your lips as it is effective to reduce dead cells. The grainy texture of the sugar makes your lips softer and supple.
  • Mix a pinch of sugar with few drops of honey to make a scrub, apply this on your lips and gently massage your lips with it for about 2 minutes. Wash it off with warm water and you will feel your lips moisturized long lasting.
  • Another option you can do is mix equal amounts of sugar, olive oil and lemon juice then mix them together. Use this to scrub your lips and wipe it off with tissue then splash warm water on your lips. At last, apply some lip balm.

2. Honey
Honey is another best remedy to make a lip scrub. It helps in removing the dead skin cells and keeps them moisturized. The moisturizing honey restores the lost moisture in your lips to prevent crack and freckles. It gives your lips natural pink tint and glow.
  • Mix 1 tsp of honey and little bit of sugar. Scrub your lips with this mixture in circular motions for 3 minutes then leave it for 5 minutes. Pat dry and apply some coconut oil. Use this remedy once a week.
  • Optionally, mix 1/2 tsp of each of honey, plain yogurt and gram flour to make a paste. Apply this paste on your lips then leave for 10 minutes. Gently scrub your lips with this to exfoliate your lips then wash it off with lukewarm water. Repeat the remedy once a week.

3. Almonds
Almonds are also great ingredient to make your lips smooth and soft. Almonds has moisturizing nature that supports the health of the lip to make it softer enough to touch. Almonds also helps in lighten up the dark lips.
  • Take a small bowl and put 1 tsp of coarsely ground almonds.
  • Now add 1 tsp of refined sugar, honey and almond oil.
  • Mix the ingredients well together.
  • Apply this mixture on your lips to scrub them.
  • Wait for 2 minutes then use a soft-bristled toothbrush to gently scrub your lips.
  • Rinse off with lukewarm water then pat dry with a tissue.
  • At last, apply some olive oil.

4. Strawberries

  • Take a ripe strawberry and cut it to half. Smash one of these parts and scrub your lips for few minutes. Leave the pulp of strawberry on your lips for 10 minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water and use this remedy for 3 times a week.
  • Alternatively, mix 1/2 tbsp. of mashed strawberries with little bit of honey. Now apply the paste on your lips and scrub with a gentle manner. Leave it for 10 minutes then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Do this remedy twice a week.

  • Mix together 1 tbsp of rose petal paste and 1 tsp of milk cream.
  • Apply this paste on your lips.
  • Now wait for 5 minutes then gently scrub your lips with the help of soft-bristle toothbrush.
  • Rinse it off with lukewarm water.

6. Coffee Grounds

  • Rinse it off with lukewarm water.

7. Aloe Vera
